Seriously I was so thrilled when I found it! He was only like $3, too. Comox was kind of awesome for thrift store stuff because it’s not like here where it is super over-priced because every damn hipster in the land is picking it over.

I am SUPER jealous that you have an ookpik! we had a bunch when I was a kid and of course they all disappeared over the years, and then when I tried to bring them up no one ever knew what the hell I was talking about.

I’m totally not even upset these days when it’s raining because it’s NOT COLD and everything smells great! Also it saves me having to water the garden.

Soup is kind of my super-favourite, I think because we have nice spoons and I like using them to eat with.

I have a hard time picking a favourite soup. Mostly I like to make blended ones, like sweet-potato leek and carrot ginger, but I also make ones where it is a pile of things in a broth and that is a good time too. One day I will learn about canning and keeping veggie trimmings in my freezer and MAKING MY OWN STOCK. (I am clearly too disastrous for that now though.)

I love soup! It is one of my favourite things to cook and I have gotten pretty good at it over the years. I’ve also gotten into the habit of chopping all my veggies before I start cooking, because I used to chop as I go but then sometimes I didn’t have enough time and then I would get all frazzled and my garlic would burn or something and then it would be lame.
I do enjoy making random soups at those times when you are like ‘oh crap I forgot I had all these carrots and also these beets are getting soft’ but my favourite soup where I use a recipe is probably curried tomato. It is really quick to make and also tastes delicious.

& congrats on the show, though I’m not really surprised because that tree is clearly awesome and they would have to be stupid not to accept it. And I’m not just saying that because we are friends, it is really amazing.
