I almost forgot I promised to go imaginary shopping with you! One day I will have the dollars to purchase things, but for now, dreaming will have to do. So, here are another ten things I would own if I was fabulously wealthy.
1. A drum carder. This one is on Craigslist right now but pretty much I do not have $550. I am waiting for the day when someone who does not know the value of these things magically gives one to me.
2. The Indie Rock Coloring Book. I have been coveting this one for a while. I sort of want to make my own awkward colouring book but I do not have mad drawing skills and also I am lazy.
3. A weird body pillow. Maine likes to make fun of the way I sleep because I take the blanket and roll it up, and then cuddle it. It also involves an elaborate hood system because I like to cover my head, but there has to be an air hole for my nose because I can’t breathe under the blanket. So yeah, this might help with that situation.
4. This cuuuute shirt, even though it says it has albino bunnies but the picture is not albino, it’s ok I forgive them. I have my own albino bunny anyway.
5. Patchouli and clove soap, because I am a secret hippy and also I really love the scent of cloves but I don’t want oranges to be involved.
6. I don’t really know who Natalie Cox is but I found this shirt, and apparently she has cancer and cancer sucks, and if you buy this shirt the money goes to help her hopefully eventually not have the cancer, and that is pretty awesome.
7. This majestic bedding from Anthropologie. I don’t think Maine would be thrilled but it is so pretty!
8. A subscription to Uppercase magazine. I bought the first issue but then I was too poor to buy any after that, and it pains me because it looks like it only got more awesome and well yes I would like to have more more MORE.
9. This sweet print of a socktapus. Actually maybe I just want this tattooed on my body because it involves at least two things that I love. Three, actually. I dunno. Boy Girl Party is pretty rad all around.
10. This flippin’ sweet accordion. There is a guy who is not old and has one and plays on Commercial sometimes and I’m like “Guy, if I didn’t have a gentleman caller already I would be so all over this.” He has a dog, also. Anyway I really think this would be the ultimate revenge against our 2 am on a Tuesday techno and loud movie watchin’ neighbours. Well, not as ultimate as bag pipes but just about.
Hope you enjoyed! I’m going to go see if I can get Tremaine to help me dye my hair now.
So I don’t want to be one of those guys who is all “omg sorry I didn’t blog, internet!” cause I think blog entries about not blogging are about as interesting as blog entries about being a social media expert and well yes ok good for you. But! The truth is, things have happened, and I have had time to blog but instead I have been playing a super lot of Red Dead Redemption. Like, more than I should admit probably. In fact it is on pause right now while I write this.
I bought the most expensive horse by accident but it is awesome.
So! Stuff that has happened, maybe in reverse order. Um I made some yarn and hung out with Nova. He is quite possibly the cutest rabbit that ever lived. Like yes ok he’s cute just looking at him, but personality-wise he is so funny, too. He is more than happy to just sit around being pet all day, and when he is real happy he tooth purrs and licks my hand. He likes to lick Maine more, though. Maine is salty I guess.
On Sunday we went up to Whistler and holy crap I sold a thing! Best day!
Also we were beside Patrick the glass guy, and he has a cute little puppy named Star. Someone threw her in a ditch and his friend found her and gave her to him and I am jealous because how come I don’t get free puppies that are super cute?
She made a mess of the flowers a little bit.
And more back in time, on Friday we went to the night market in Richmond with Daryl and Maffy and their friend who has a name but I cannot remember it. Also Val and Sean met up with us eventually too.
The night market is sort of a terrible place to go if you are full of anxiety. My personal opinion is that food on a stick is awesome, but not so awesome that I want to get molested by 8000 to get it.
Maine, of course, feels quite the opposite and was more than willing to brave the crowds to sample all sorts of weird food.
Pretty sure this was deep fried condensed milk something or other.
This was cheese filled bamboo I think? Maybe it had some sauce, I dunno.
These yam fries had some weird sugary seasoning on them. It was ok I guess but I don’t think I could have eaten very many.
I think he was the most excited about the potato on a stick. We had to hunt for this booth in the crowd, and then discovered of course it was the one with the longest line.
We were forced to do some creative line barging, but in the end Maine returned victorious. And yes, they were quite tasty.
Maine got some sort of Vietnamese drink with grass jelly and beans, and mostly everyone else was horrified by it.
Naturally, Val got the corn on the cob. I’m not sure if it is tastier than frozen corn in a cup, but she seemed pretty pleased.
After we finished with the food, we wandered a bit but mostly what they have there is like, cheap electronic accessories and dodgy clothing, but there was a booth with these super cute animal hats.
And if we go even more back in time to a different day, I think it was Thursday? We went to Val and Sean’s place to drink lavender mojitos.
On the way we went downtown and people were giving away free cola! I got a Coke Zero and we taste tested and you can totally tell the difference.
Val also made us delightful bean salsa and then we tried to watch A Clockwork Orange but it made zero sense and we got bored. It must be one of those things you need to see early to love.
I don’t know how it happened but we took the 22 home and I found a lot of blackberry bushes that are almost ready to pillage.
Tomorrow we go window shopping again! Are you so excited?
Yeah, I’m going to be one of those guys who has a theme post every week I think. I need content, but I do not have the means to do a lot of things right now, so I was thinking we’d do a little window shopping. Yes. Sounds delightful. I’m going to aim for ten things every week but uh dare to dream as I make no promises about this even being a lasting thing. I have a short attention span.
SO! Here we go. Ten things I’d buy if I had some dollars.
2. This really cute mug I saw at Starbucks the other morning. I should have taken my own picture because it was seriously cute. There is a yellow submarine on the other side.
3. This purple embroidered Mexican dress from Aida Coronado. While we’re at it we can pretend it would fit.
