The other day Val came over because she tried to go home and the line for the Canada Line was like 2 blocks long, and we were looking at things on Ravelry and I was reminded of this one time I found a lady who knit really pretty things and she was really flouncy and everything was made of white.
I had creeped on her on Flickr a while ago and thought that I added some pictures to my favourites but they were not there. I think I might have just made a bookmark and I lost all of them when my computer exploded last time, so I gave up and Val showed me some things she might knit.
Then she showed me this Where The Wild Things Are inspired sweater and I was like “Wow that is sweet”…
I did not realize until the next day when I began my search again that it was made by the same lady. Hurrah!
I’ve added her blog to my Google reader so I don’t lose it again. You should also check it out. She is made of whimsy and butterflies. (All photos yoinked from her Flickr).
Tams updates:
- not enough!
- too much!
- Goldilocks style! (Juuuuuuust right!)
Yes ok I should have set up an actual poll but I do not know how. Anyways I’ve been sort of struggling with this, because I try to reserve this blog for interesting things or crafty things. You know. I see a lot of other bloggers constantly sharing things they found elsewhere, which is cool, but I don’t necessarily know if I should be doing that as well? Cause I find awesome stuff sometimes but I figure you either won’t care or have already seen it.
Ok so! A few weeks ago a thing happened where I went to the Museum of Vancouver with my Design class for a field trip sort of thing and this time I actually charged my camera so I have way more pictures than the first time.
Rebecca and I ended up getting there early so I yelled at the ducks. I think they thought we had food. I felt kinda bad about it.
We did a quick run through with a lady who works there and she told us some stuff. It was pretty interesting to go back because I realized there was a ton of stuff I didn’t notice the first time. And I kind of want to go again.
I am just going to post pictures now, ok good.
This is similar to what I imagine my wedding dress would look like. With these shoes:
INCREDIBLE!
A lot of this does not translate well into photographs, so if you live in Vancouver (or you are here Olympicing), then I encourage you, dear reader, to check it out.
It’s too bad the space centre part is way out of date.
Ok so another thing that has happened is I am squandering my reading break by playing the Sims 3 instead of, oh I dunno, working on productive things. I made our old house and it is really funny watching things play out because some of it is so true to life it is amazing. Those of you who were lucky unfortunate enough to ever see it will probably get a good lol out of it.
That house painting should actually be a dinosaur on Europa. Like this:
I am going through old photos on Jen’s facebook and I suddenly am realizing that we basically lived in a lady frat house.
Hey remember that time I had dreads? That was an ok time in Tams history.
Maine and I captured the kitchen pretty well I think.
Ok, enough reminiscing. Hope you are all having a magical week! I will be back soon with more things.
Friday Steph and I took advantage of her day off to visit Sochi House.
The Russians managed to transform Science World into a magical place filled with holograms, Ovechkin’s outfits and visions of the future.
I met up with Steph in the line, which snaked around the grass outside. She told me to follow the ground and then I would find her. I did.
While we waited we took pictures of the athlete’s village.
Still lots of time left to make sure the Olympic flame does not malfunction!
We were greeted by these hologram people. I wanted to get a video but it was right by the front and people kept walking by. Sorry friends.
They had performers throughout the day, including this very earnest singer guy. He was pretty good.
They also had models of the future Olympic venues. I just hope they know that probably they will cost more than the government told them it would.
Some of the more interesting things to look at included hockey memorabilia, like these game worn outfits.
We went into the lounge area where people were watching skeleton.
I think they hide the vodka and bring it out after they kick out the non-Russians at 5.
I do not really know what was happening in this room because we did not go in. All I know is it said MTV was filming in there and if we went in we were consenting to being on tv, and I pretty much do not want to be on tv.
We also checked out the gift shop but it was kinda mega expensive. So. No Russian outfits for me. Sad times.
