Hey the internet,
I feel like it has been a while since we’ve seen each other. The truth is, I have been doing things… Just not so much taking pictures of them. And I feel blog posts without pictures that are only about “dear diary, today I did a thing” are super the most boring. Kind of like my $90 paperback Art History textbook.
So in no particular order, really, kind of, here are some things I’ve done lately.
I ate a New Years Day burger. It was delicious. It was made of babies. Baby sheeps. Sad times, sheep, I am kind of sorry for eating you but you taste rad.
Tremaine ate a Terror burger with no vegetables (it has a different name). He wants heart disease so hard.
At some point I walked past the bridge and took this picture. I think I have like 80 of the same picture, all a tiny bit different. I like how the city sparkles.
Then another day, Shelby and his lady friend Steph came over and we played nerd games. It was some sort of zombie game, I dunno. I did not win, but I think I did ok. I killed a lot of zombies.
I had fun, actually. I would like to play it again sometime, but with a table.
Then school came back! Hooray!
We are doing image transfers in Surface Design, using a photocopier and acrylic medium. I have ideas. So many.
Unicorns of the sea!
Tatunka! One time Steph and I watched secret 4 hour Dances with Wolves and she was so late for work it was so long. There was an intermission! Seriously! A DVD that comes with an intermission! I should watch it again sometime.
So I clearly have not taken the paper part off yet. I forgot to. I will probably bring it home and do it this weekend. One of our assignments coming up is to make something that is a “container”. Help!
This morning I had to take the train and the bus to school and it was pretty ok because the sky was made of magic! Then we did some colour stuff in Design and when I left I saw this parked outside!
Good green! And beer! Where do I sign up?
So then I caught the bus home because our drawing class was cancelled, and I went to Lonsdale and bought so many things at Kins. Seriously. Kins is like the greatest produce store ever. I wish I lived near one. They had the good apple juice I love. It’s like $6 for a 4L jug but it’s some weird hippy pressed stuff and oh man so good.
When I took this picture some dude decided to take MY picture and it was way awkward. This happens to me sometimes. I feel like people see me and go oh man I want to show someone else how colourful and ridiculous this person is and then they take a picture and I’m like GAH I DO NOT LIKE PICTURES OF ME but I can’t make them delete it because they are a stranger and what if they aren’t taking a picture of me, even though I know he was because I purposely tried to get out of his shot and then he followed me and took another. Weird!
Then Maine and I went on an adventure tonight to try to find a copy of Frankie magazine. We went to “Does your mother know?” on 4th and they did not have it. They had this other one that was $16 and it was about handmade stuffed toys but the internet is full of pictures of those and for zero dollars. Then we tried Chapters and they didn’t have it either and I am thinking I’m either going to have to give up and forget it exists, or subscribe for $120 AUD for 6 magazines per year, sad times! Why does the best magazine come from Australia? It is not fair.
However at Chapters we did stumble upon this gem, which is for people who believe in fairies I guess. It was right near the magazines for people who believe in Angels. I guess it is kind of appropriate?
So then I pretty much gave up and we came home, but on the way I saw this weird metal thing and it was shiny so I touched it.
By the way, the OLYMPICS are so soon I can hardly believe it! It has been this weird thing that always existed in the future for me for pretty much as long as I’ve lived in Vancouver. Oh also I think next year I might have a party for my 10 year anniversary of living here. TEN YEARS!
Coca Cola bought like all the advertising spots at the Granville Skytrain station and it is hilarious to me because most of the ads involve hockey. I guess we know which sport most Canadians care about, eh?
I especially liked this one because it has mittens and yarn and hockey! Like basically three things that are so awesome to me!
Maine got a pair of those mittens for Christmas and I wore them today except they are too big and also I don’t want any anti-Olympic people to yell at me. I am pretty indifferent to the Olympics. I lived through Calgary ’88, I think we will be ok.
