When did my blog turn into http://thisiswhyyourefat.com/?

This afternoon I came home, and was going through my reader when I saw this recipe, shared by Val’s gentleman caller.

(Speaking of my reader, I have been adding links to people who are on my reader. I have a lot of blarghs on there and not enough time to comment a lot, so they may not even know who I am, but I will continue to add more in the future. Check some of them out if you’d like.)

CANDIED BACON?!

I am not even a major bacon enthusiast, but I really love candied salmon and I imagine candied bacon can only be at least just as delicious.

My lady parts are doing a thing, so I basically want to eat everything. I obsessed over this recipe for a few hours, never closing the tab. Finally, after dinner, I convinced Maine we should go to Safeway to get bacon. (There was not much convincing involved.)

I got orange juice (+1), yogurt (+1), chocolate milk (0 – milk has calcium god damn it), cookies (-2) and uh, the bacon ( -11 000 000 000). In case it is not clear, those are the health points associated with each food. Oh there are gummy worms in there but those are for Maine. We are the pinnacle of health. Pinnacle.

Of course, I am a classy dame so we bought sale bacon.

And I don’t even know what parchment paper is. Tinfoil will do the job I think. Sometimes I make and do, and sometimes I just make do, ok?

You didn’t really think I would measure the sugar, did you? It’s in the oven right now.

In the meantime, I had some chocolate milk and cookies to tide me over. I bought these chocolate covered graham squares cause the other day I had the ones from Starbucks, oh my so delicious. These ones taste like a slice of petroleum. Ick.

Ok so they’re done now. Little bacons. At first when I checked them I was like hmmn this does not look right. They didn’t look crisp enough. But do not panic, they will crisp.

I obviously panicked a bit and left them in for too long. These are good. Perhaps, too good. I had three bacons and now I think I need to cut myself off for the night. Maybe have some fruit.

Damn you, Sean.

P.S. I feel like I should let you guys know I actually ate well for most of the day. Mega fibre bread, peanut butter, an apple. Good things. Promise.

I always figured parchment paper was just wax paper, and that they call it weird things in other places sometimes?

i think wax paper maybe has more difficulties in hot temperatures? like it starts smoking.
