Yesterday I crashed a turkey dinner and it was only somewhat uncomfortable. Mostly because I do not know how to say hello to a person who has been mad at me and has been ignoring me for the last three months.

In case you are wondering, you do not say hello – you say “I’m sorry” when they awkwardly try to climb over the mess you have made on the floor putting together your fibre sample book.

Yes, friends, I brought my homework with me. Look how organized it is! I have not finished – I need to classify everything as either animal, plant or synthetic and probably within those groups I will try to make them alphabetical. Except that one on the bottom left, I am not sure what it is… It was loose in the binder. Eeek. I think it might be bamboo? Maybe I should burn test it!?

Seriously, why didn’t I just go to art school first? I feel like the first part of my educational career was a colossal waste of time (and so so many dollars).

Let’s not talk about dollars, it makes me want to cry.

Did I mention my school is pretty gung ho about the whole “Don’t give each other the swine flu” thing?

So I am still battling with the spinning wheel. Today we went to Birkeland to see if we could get parts there (We can’t. I have to email pics to Ashford – pretty sure the wheel is a Traditional -  to see if they can send me some parts). On the way, we saw this store:

Um how can there be so many bibles that you can have a whole store dedicated to them? I mean shouldn’t they mostly be all the same?

In my design class we have to look for examples of design elements. So this is uh, line in nature? We put the images in our sketchbook, which is kind of more of a terrifying scrapbook. (I have never really understood scrapbooking?)

Line in… um. Asphalt?

On the way home, we stopped at Urban Source and I bought so many things. Then we went down to catch the bus and I saw this amazing shirt at Ark (sorry about the glare). Maine says he won’t wear it. He also says he won’t grow a mustache like Eugene’s.

Sad times indeed.

Watching this makes me pretty bummed that I am not going to see them this time around. But man frig the Vogue and frig Ticketmaster’s ridiculous charges. Also I never thought I would say this after I almost died of heat stroke at the !!! show but frig the people who tore down Richards as well. Aren’t there enough over-priced condos in this city?

In completely unrelated news, I am sort of obsessed with the idea of raising some alpacas. So cute! I want to snorgle them so hard.

Tomorrow I:

- make butternut squash soup
- bake bread
- read my Art History text
- do some block printing
- think about making these mittens in pink and yellow Malabrigo:

i don’t think i would have done as well if i had gone directly to ucfv instead of aimlessly flailing around sfu for a while. dollars and i will probably never be friends. we might get to the point where we nod and say an awkward “hi” when we pass in the hall, but that’s about it. i dunno about alpacas. if i have to deal with something that bites and spits, i’d prefer it to be smaller than i am.

oh man i always feel like i want to comment on every part of your posts… ill try and cut back…..
    1) I’m jealous of your school! I checked out the certificate programs they have and wo-my-god i want to be in all of them! i couldnt find jewelry design anywhere though – do you guys have that? Trying to find a good jewelry school that I want to goto at some point… after THIS art school..
    2) You putting pictures of your cat randomly throughout your posts makes me want to post more pictures of my cat – i read once that blogs that contain pictures of peoples cats and dogs are one of the top 5 annoyances in blogs but eff those people… i like it….. also agree on the coolness of the cat tshirt but theres no way my bf would wear it either….

Haha, feel free to comment away! I am kind of all over the internet, and a lot of the people who read my blog don’t post comments often, or if they do, they do it somewhere else (like on facebook). Which is cool, yeah, and I am glad they are reading it, but sometimes it is nice to get comments that are not Russian spammers (though I do love the Russians).

I thought the mittens were Norwegian (I found them by searching “Selbu” on ravelry), but I guess mittens from that area all sort of look similar. They are beautiful though! I have knitting ADD a bit, and it takes forever to finish things a lot of the time, so it would be pretty magical to have some gifted to me. Lucky girl! I am jealous!

Oh nerts! I don’t think there is jewelery things at my school. What about the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design? I might end up there if I feel like doing more art. Or Concordia. But then I would be cold a lot and that would be sad.
