My original intention was to update this thing a few times a week but so far… not so much.
My job leaves me pretty exhausted mentally. I am struggling with the feeling of not doing enough. What is enough?
Anyways. I got up to a few things this morning.
I had been meaning to make cookies for the last few days, so I made some, Tamara-style. This means chucking a bunch of stuff in a bowl and hoping for the best.

Peanut butter, Reese’s Pieces, some hot chocolate and other miscellaneous things found around the kitchen.
Then I decided to dye some yarn I bought a few weeks back. I was trying to take a few pictures of it before I chucked it in with the Kool-Aid but Lou kept getting in the way.

He is pretty cute, no?

I used two packets of grape, but I am thinking I might go buy some more, since it’s not nearly as dark as I was hoping.

Bert has a much different style than Lou, but still manages to get in the way.

Yesterday I went to the gym with Val, and on our way back we stopped in this cooking supplies store (yes I do see how ridiculous that is). I found these, and am excited to make some cookies with them. However, I need to not eat all the cookies, so I need to find friends who would like to eat many cookies so I can give them away.

Last weekend, Val and I braved the 3 hour lineup at the Three Bags Full yarn sale and came home with many yarn. I spent about $150 and I think she spent about $120. This is what we came home with:
I’ll be honest and say I’m not 100% sure what I’m going to do with it yet. I am thinking a striped cardigan out of the obnoxious pink, blue and green stuff. The rest of it, who knows. Probably it will join my already out of control stash. I am not allowing myself to start anything new until the epic Space Invaders scarf is finished.

I finished the invaders part and now I am basically just doing row upon row of black. Maine would like it to be 7 feet long, and I am saying right now it’s not going to happen. But it definitely needs to be longer than it is right now, and I still need to do the high score part.

I made this guy last night. My second attempt at Fimo things. I messed up, I think I was mislead by the internet. I was under the assumption I could cook him and then add more, but it wouldn’t stick right so I had to jam some wire in him to hold him together, which lead to a few small cracks. But still, I think he’s cute, so whatever.

Maine also wanted an octopus with a top hat. I forgot to give him suckers on his tentacles. See? I basically fail. I need to get some of that gloss stuff. Another trip to the art store is in order!
This is a new thing I am trying on. This is my crafty/creative/making things blog, so I will be using it only to talk about things I am working on or thinking about working on or inspired by, or whatever. I will not be using it to whine about my life. I will keep that for other places.
I made some things last night, I will probably get some pictures up soon, but for now here is a picture of the very first thing I made with fimo. It is a robot that was a Christmas gift for my friend, Lucas.
It was taken with my crappy camera phone, so I apologize for the crappiness of it.
